Overview:
This conference examines transcultural exchanges in Chinese and Taiwanese literature and visual culture from the late nineteenth century to the present, with particular emphasis on the dynamic and reciprocal interactions between East and West. Through case studies in literature, cinema, visual arts, and media, participants will explore how cultural works cross linguistic and geopolitical boundaries, undergo transformations, and acquire new meanings within specific socio-political contexts.
